Jan/14: Mission Partners

Tearfund: Uganda

We give heartfelt thanks for Sam Mukabi Zema, General Secretary for Pentecostal Assemblies of God in Uganda. Sam visited St G’s in November 2013 and greatly blessed us though his ministry to Roots, the PCC and our staff team as well as speaking at our gatherings.  St G’s supports the work that Tearfund are doing with PAG in Uganda. Sam writes:

“…we have lots of things to celebrate, we have discovered that God has taken care of all of our needs through the resources He has put at our disposal, which we didn’t know before. Also we celebrate because Christians are learning that God has not just put us as a church in the community for ourselves but he has put the church in communities to be able to reach His people and be a blessing to them.”

Sam encourages us to give thanks for lives transformed and to pray that many more Ugandans will be blessed through the support of churches like St G’s.

Andy & Uta Buckler & family: France

Andy and Uta give thanks for the new United Protestant Church of France, formed in January 2013 from a union between the Lutheran and Reformed churches.  Give thanks that the church has clearly defined itself as a witnessing church “une Eglise de te moins”, and please pray for fresh spiritual life to renew the church.

Andy and his team have been working on a key handbook for PCC members for
2 years, the handbook was published last November and will be distributed to 5000 council members and pastors throughout France. Please pray that this will be a useful tool to envision and equip local churches.

Please pray too for Andy as he leads the commission for training and evangelism, a strategic group within the protestant church.  Pray for the team that they learn to work together and for Andy, that he will be able to give effective visionary leadership.

We should continue to pray for the whole family, for the children in education, for Uta’s involvement in children’s work and pastoral care in the church and for Andy as he travels widely as part of his preaching and teaching ministry.
